GEOTECHNICAL AND GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY >> GEOMIL DUTCH CONE PENETROMETERS PUSHERS

GeoMil Dutch Cone Penetrometers Pushers

Model : Dutch Cone Penetrometers Pushers

Origin : The Netherlands

Application :

- Geotechnical site investigations : CPT and related static sounding methods

GeoMil Equipment designs, manufactures, sells and services hydraulic penetrometer pushers with ranging capacity from 50kN to more than 200kN. The units are constructed as fully ballasted high performance all terrain trucks or cabin crawlers or units to be anchored such as light weight crawlers or the new modular trailer concept.

The units are constructed as fully ballasted high performance all terrain trucks or cabin crawlers or units to be anchored such as light weight crawlers or the new modular trailer concept.

Alternatively and designed for more flexible deployment, various stand alone units are available. Either anchored or mounted to a firm and ballasted stable base, they cover the common range of pushing loads and can also be used for educational purposes, starter kits or special project requirements.

The design of all GeoMil penetrometer pushers is focussed on high productions rates and economic utilisation.
All penetrometer pushers come with hydraulically actuated twin rams and are designed for all static soundings, such as Cone Penetration Tests (CPT), with or without cable, seismic CPT, shear vane tester, sampling, Dilatometer tests and other static as well as direct push methods.

1/ CPT truck

Cone penetration tests (CPT) are since long a common and standard static sounding method for site investigations. GeoMil Equipment B.V. (previously Goudsche Machinefabriek or GMF GOUDA) manufactures high quality CPT equipment since 1932.

As the required pushing force to drive in the CPT cones is up to 200kN it is essential to counterweight the pushing penetrometer in a sufficient and effective way.

The GeoMil trucks are specially designed and ballasted for providing the appropriate reaction force for reliable CPT soundings and simultaneously they ensure for comfortable working conditions and highly mobility and accessibility of the units even in rough terrain.

All CPT units are designed and built to clients specifications in order to meet the specific local requirements. The units can be delivered and serviced world-wide.

The CPT trucks can be based on any all-wheel drive truck of any brand while experience has shown that Mercedes and MAN are the preferred brands.
The truck can either be supplied by the client for conversion or can be supplied by GeoMil. The CPT performance will be tailored to client requirements and truck capacities.

The GeoMil CPT trucks are commonly equipped with the new design of the versatile All units are designed for maximum working safety, comfort (low noise level) and respect the environment of man and nature. They combine optimum terrain capabilities with high CPT production rates.

Among others, the CPT trucks can be supplied with the following options:

- Automatic hydraulic catching clamp

 - Automatic clamping device

 - Communication and alarm system

 - GPS system

 - GSM-based data transfer system

 - Automated levelling system

 - Air compressor with airgun

 - Radiator or independent diesel heating

 - Air-conditioning

- Sine-wave inverter

 - Camera system for positioning purposes

 - Radio / CD-player

2/ CPT Cabin crawler

In order to perform Cone Penetration Tests (CPT) in the most reliable and economical way, only the best equipment available will ensure for success.

Not without pride GeoMil Equipment can claim to be the world market leader in designing and manufacturing the very best fully ballasted CPT cabin crawlers up to 200kN pushing capacity.

Due to the superb constructional solutions, employment of OEM components of highest quality and our first class finishing the GeoMil cabin crawlers form an excellent investment in a sustainable and successful performance, lasting for decades.

The GeoMil cabin crawlers, based on Caterpillar 315 or 320 undercarriages of the latest design, provide extremely low ground pressures and guarantee for perfect terrain capabilities. Depending on the total crawler weigth and chosen track dimension the ground pressure may be 3.8 KPa or less, unreached by any purely wheel or combined wheel/track propelled CPT unit.

The long designing experience and close co-operation with the GeoMil clients for performance improvements resulted in a standardised basic design over the years. Still special wishes or demands e.g. for the dimensions, total load, interior design and accessories are considered and make every unit unique.

By choosing for a fully ballasted CPT cabin crawler the decision is made for high and profitable production. With a daily production rate of 250 sounding meters and more there is no better choice for large investigation terrains like road construction sites, land reclamation areas or industrial and residential estates.

Due to the quick and easy mobilisation of a CPT cabin crawler as well as the rapid "ready to start" preparation without time consuming anchoring, even small investigation sites with only a handful of soundings become profitable.

3/ CPT Lightweight Crawler

The new GeoMil Light Weight Crawler (LWC) is the result of mutual exchange between clients addressing special demands and the GeoMil engineers providing professional design experience for geotechnical sounding equipment.

The caterpillar propelled LWC comes in two versions. The high end model provides an extendable undercarriage (78 cm to 120 cm), a 2 cylinder Hatz silent-pack Diesel engine and automatic manoevering and operation control by means of electrical hydraulic valves feasible for optional remote control.
The basic model comes with the same functionality but with fixed track width (120 cm), 1 cylinder Hatz silent pack Diesel engine and mechanical valves for manual control.

The GeoMil 100 kN penetrometer pusher is mounted parallel to the long axis of the crawler and the operator has easy access to the pusher and to the tube rack to the left, hosting 20 standard sounding tubes.

The high end model comes with a waterproofed operation control box providing a joystick for the soundimg contol and a swingable tube rack that can be turned by 90° allowing for a perfect working position.

The basic model is operated by manual levers and the tube rack is in a fixed position.

The LWC has been designed for a CPT operation with either the GeoMil analogue electrical CPT cones, mechanical cones or the Geotech cordless digital CPT system.
